Risk Controls & Issue Management

  • Identify emerging risks, control gaps, and process inefficiencies; propose and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Support surveillance of limit frameworks such as capital adequacy limits, counterparty exposure limits, and liquidity thresholds.
  • Assist with incident investigations and post event analysis.
  • Troubleshoot client facing issues.

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Compliance, Operations, Treasury, and Technology to ensure effective end to end risk management.
  • Participate in audits, regulatory exams, and internal reviews by providing documentation, data, and subject matter expertise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in risk management, preferably within a broker dealer, FCM, clearing firm, or derivatives focused financial institution.
  • Series 3 and 7 (or ability to obtain within three months of start date).
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Strong understanding of margining methodologies (e.g., SPAN, TIMS, VaR based systems).
  • Familiarity with U.S. regulatory frameworks including SEC, FINRA, CFTC, NFA, and exchange specific rules.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with risk systems, SQL, or data analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
